Dear West Bloomfield School District Community,
Margaret Meade has a famous quote; "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful
committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, "it is the only thing that ever has,"
and this is ever so true as we face these unparalleled times. For us, these thoughtful
committed citizens are members of our West Bloomfield Educational Foundation (WBEF),
parents of our students, alumni, residents, and our business community. The WBEF has
launched an unprecedented "Save Our Schools" campaign with a goal to raise $2 million
to support and preserve quality education for our students. |
Franklin D. Roosevelt said "The school is the last expenditure upon which America should be willing to econo-
mize." When you think about all the sacrifices our parents and grandparents made, it seems that in the past
educating one's children meant something much more in this country. Education was the #1. priority. Our
parents, and their parents before them, knew the value of educating their children. Their ambition was for
their children to have a better life.
I believe that today this is what we all want for our children. There are many things in life that you can't put a
price tag on, and a premier education is one of them.
We are ever so grateful that this dedicated foundation has chosen to invest their personal time, energy, and
resources to help meet our financial needs in light of recent State budget cuts to education. Their passion is
contagious. The WBEF believes success comes in cans, failure comes in can'ts. They have renewed hope for a
brighter future by elevating our fundraising efforts to a level commonly associated only with private schools.
Please join me and the staff of the West Bloomfield School District on behalf of our children by supporting the
West Bloomfield Educational Foundation's fundraising mission through the "Save Our Schools" campaign.
