Managed by a community-based all volunteer board of directors, the foundation works closely with the school district’s administration to identify areas of need and opportunities where the foundation can make a positive impact.

Board Member Biographies

Silvia Brown

Sylvia Brown became a WBEF board member in 2021 . She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, a Master of Arts in Education and a Master of Administration in Educational Leadership.  She has 7 years of experience as a Superintendent in Charter Schools in Redford and Highland Park, 5 years’ experience as an Administrator in Dearborn and Ferndale ,  1.5 years’ experience as a Department Leader, 9 years experience as a Director and more than 5 years’ experience in hands-on teaching.

Sylvia has been married for 19 years to her husband Tony.  They reside in West Bloomfield Lake Estates and currently have one son and one daughter  in the West Bloomfield School District.

She is honored to be a part of an engaged community that has a vision for student success and well being, and she looks forward to contributing to this dynamic team for the betterment of the WB Community.

Terri Hoyer Compton 

Terri Hoyer Compton joined the WBEF Board in 2022.  Terri is very involved in the PTOs at the schools including chairing different events and was also co-President of Orchard Lake Middle School PTO. She also has created and maintained many teachers and school Facebook pages, including the West Bloomfield Middle School and West Bloomfield High School Facebook pages.

Terri attended Oakland University with a major in Business.  Terri also has coached i9 soccer for many years and volunteers with different animal rescues, including fostering over 40 dogs to be adopted.

Terri and her husband Sean have lived in West Bloomfield since 2012. They have 5 daughters Tristan (WBHS), Brin (WBMS), Zoe (Scotch), Remi (Gretchko) and Piper (ECSE/Pre-K).

Cristina Elsen

Cristina and her husband Adam have four children and they reside in Keego Harbor.  Jake graduated from WBHS in 2021, Sophia graduated in 2022, and Mikey and Mia are currently at West Bloomfield Middle School.

Cristina Elsen has volunteered for over 20 years to the West Bloomfield School District, Keego Harbor and West Bloomfield communities in many ways. She served as a West Bloomfield School District Board of Trustee from 2014-2020, Roosevelt, Abbott and Gretchko PTO’s, Motor Moms, Blessings in a Backpack, Keego Harbor Optimist Club, multiple WB/Keego and WB district committees, is an Extraordinary Minister at her Church.  Serving the community is very important to Cristina.

Cristina received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.  She’s an Account Executive for T-Mobile’s Business Division, outfitting companies with wireless, office, telematic and Internet of Things solutions and technology

On a personal note, Cristina has also been volunteering for the National Ski Patrol as a ski patroller since 2019.  Skiing is one of her activities she can never get enough of in the winter. While everyone dreads the winter, she’ll be the one skiing during a snowstorm.  She also loves arts and crafts, kayaking, biking and hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Jennifer Hill

Jennifer Hill was appointed to the WBEF Board of Directors in November 2018. She is currently employed in-house as an attorney for a local developer and specializes in real estate and municipal law.

Ms. Hill holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from James Madison College, Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University. She has one student in the West Bloomfield School District.

She enjoys being part of an organization that provides resources to teachers so they can implement fresh and innovative educational opportunities for West Bloomfield students.

I.D. Jegede

Mr. Jegede is the owner of the IDJ Insurance Agency, a Meemic Insurance Company agency in West Bloomfield. He is also the Founder and Managing Director of a firm that provides K-12 education consulting services including college readiness and college admissions coaching.

Mr. Jegede holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Operations Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance both from the University of Michigan.

He and his wife, Brenda have two adult children who attended West Bloomfield Schools and both graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. They have been residents of West Bloomfield for nearly 20 years.

I.D. has served on the WBEF Board Of Directors for nearly 5 years and enjoys lending  his expertise in seeking additional grant money to fund district programs.

Juliet Jozwick

After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1994, Juliet Jozwick began a real estate career selling lofts in Detroit in 1998. She continued her real estate business after moving to the lakes with her husband. They are the proud parents of Jackson and Jimmy, both students in the West Bloomfield School District.

Juliet began volunteering for Gretchko Elementary’s PTO and enjoyed two years on their Executive Board.  She then joined the Roosevelt Elementary’s Executive PTO Board and volunteered to be the school’s mascot, Rosie the Husky. Juliet also enjoys chairing committees for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Rochester and assisting with Blessings in a Backpack of Rochester and West Bloomfield.

Currently, Juliet is a substitute teacher at Scotch Elementary School a few days a week and says she has learned so much more about what educators face, especially after Covid set many students back academically and socially.

As a volunteer and attendee of WBEF’s Casino Night, she sees how the WBEF not only brings in the monetary resources to benefit the community, but also reaffirms the importance of working together for a common and important goal, helping kids through education.

She is honored to devote her time, talents and resources to the WBEF knowing that she can continue to support something that she cares about so deeply about.

Neena Sandhu

Neena has been a resident of West Bloomfield since 2002. She is married to Jack and they have three children. They reside in the Royal Pointe Subdivision in the Township of West Bloomfield. She has been on the Board of Directors since 2016. She is currently serving her second term.

She has also served on the Roosevelt and WBHS PTO committees as a PCN representative and has served on the OLMS PTO as well. Additionally, she has been a Girl Scout leader for a multi-level troop of over 40 girls at Roosevelt. She also served on the committee which led the successful passage of the school district’s $120 million Bond proposal approved by voters in May 2017.

Furthermore, Ms. Sandhu has been involved with organizations beyond the West Bloomfield community including a group that planned and hosted a day at the Palace of Auburn Hills with an attendance of 30,000 people celebrating the 50th anniversary of India’s independence.

Ms. Sandhu holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Wayne State University.

She is honored to work with an amazing and dedicated group of people and supporting the outstanding teachers, staff, and administration in the West Bloomfield School District.
