Refund and Donation Policy
The West Bloomfield Educational Foundation (WBEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Because your contributions are used immediately to fund classroom grants and student programs, most donations and purchases are considered non-refundable.
Raffle Tickets
No Returns on Raffle Tickets: All raffle ticket sales, including the “Dollars for Scholars” 50/50 Raffle, are final.
- Once a ticket is purchased, it is entered into the drawing and cannot be refunded or exchanged.
General Donations As a general rule, charitable donations are not refundable. We rely on these funds to fulfill our mission of fueling student success. However, we will consider refund requests in the following limited circumstances:
- Mistake in Amount: If an error was made during the online checkout process (e.g., an extra zero was added to the donation amount).
- Unauthorized Transaction: If a donation was made fraudulently using your credit card or account.
- Recurring Donation Error: If you intended to cancel a recurring gift but were charged due to a processing delay.
To request a review of a donation, please contact us within 7 days of the transaction.
Event Registrations For tickets to foundation events (such as galas or community fundraisers):
- Cancellations: Refund requests must be received in writing at least 14 days prior to the event.
- No-Shows: We are unable to offer refunds for guests who are unable to attend on the day of the event.
- Transferability: In many cases, you may transfer your ticket to another guest. Please contact us to update the attendee name.
Refund Process Once a refund is approved by our board or treasurer:
- A credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment.
- Please allow 7–14 business days for the transaction to appear on your statement.
- Tax Receipts: If you have already received a tax-deductible receipt for your gift, that receipt becomes null and void upon the issuance of a refund. You are responsible for correcting any tax filings accordingly.
